Our History
David Adlam and his son Paul established Phoenix in 1985. David’s extensive experience
in the ventilation business started in the early sixties and covers all areas of
manufacture, erection and project management of complex ductwork systems. He decided
to put this experience to good use and establish a company that offered quality
at competitive prices.
Within a short time Phoenix’s professional approach had attracted the attention
of a number of large clients and the company won a string of prestigious contracts
across the south east of England. Through organic growth Phoenix expanded it’s staff
and set up a manufacturing facility in its offices in West Byfleet. Here, the latest
equipment was purchased to produce high quality ductwork used on site.
The Present
As the number of contracts grew, major investment was made in the manufacturing
facility and the workshop was extended to over five times its original size. High
quality plasma cutters and the latest AutoCAD software were installed to ensure
that the whole process from drawing to manufacture is as accurate as possible.
Phoenix now has around 60 in-house staff with a number of long-term suppliers and
contract staff working full-time on our projects.
The Future
Despite our past successes, we do not rest on our laurels and constantly strive
to improve all areas of our work. Two directors recently visited the States to examine
new equipment and techniques and we have invested in a new integrated Job Costing
and Accounts system to improve the administration of all our projects.
We continue to look for new methods or innovations to keep our company at the forefront
of our industry.
