Corporate Philosophy
Our Organisation
Phoenix is a professional organisation engaged in the construction and maintenance
of ductwork systems. We are contracting ductwork engineers.
We intend to remain the leaders in all categories of our core endeavour: the London
and Southern England ductwork industry.
We strive to remain technically current and familiar with the latest generation
mechanical designs, equipment and systems. We will not resist changes and, in fact,
will welcome it as an opportunity to adapt to the altered circumstances faster than
our competition. We will adjust more rapidly and economically to a client's special
needs, to technical advancements and to governmental regulations.
There is no system or activity at Phoenix that cannot be improved. We constantly
strive to enhance every aspect of our organisation. Quality improvement processes
are used to address special challenges and refine larger cross-functional activities.
The pride that is evident throughout Phoenix stems from owner management.
Our growth has been internally financed. Future development will be funded similarly.
Our Projects
A core belief is that a project, which satisfies our client, is a higher priority
than a profitable project. Enthusiastic client service is a hallmark of this organisation
and is the major reason for our success.
Attention to all details in every activity is given. We believe client’s hire us
to manage the details of a ductwork project.
Our Process
We have observed that the more carefully we plan, the more successful the project.
Effective planning is done before actual construction has started and, optimally,
before construction drawings are initiated. Conscious, documented planning based
on experience and knowledge is an integral part of our organisation's construction
process.
We make every effort to adhere to a construction schedule provided to us by the
responsible construction manager. We identify, well before the onset of an activity,
any portion of a proposed schedule about which we have concern. We will adhere to
any section of a construction schedule in which we have input.
Every work product, even that produced by a senior-level person, is reviewed by
another experienced individual. This continuing evaluation specifically applies
to accounting, estimating, drawings, connections and placement.
We recognise that every phase of quality construction requires proper, fully operational
tools. We will have these tools available to our people at the appropriate time.
We strive to research and utilize the latest methods and systems for achieving economy
and quality in all construction processes. On-site tradesmen and support staff generate
innovative suggestions, which are incorporated into our operational standards.
Corporate Capabilities and Client Relationships
Phoenix serves clients for their ductwork requirements:
We strive to build mutual trust and confidence with our clients, seeking partnering
arrangements, and even providing internal data to clients who negotiate contracts
with us.
Our people are non-aggressive and non-confrontational. We expedite a solution rather
than ignore it.
From our broad and varied experience on over 1,000 projects, we have successfully
confronted many challenging requirements and problems. That invaluable experience,
residing in our people and our archives, is a resource readily available to our
clients.
This organisation attempts to prefabricate as much as possible in our facility.
Besides the quality and economics achieved by manufacturing in a controlled environment
with major production tools, construction times are accelerated and jobsite space
is conserved. Clients are welcome to visit the Phoenix duct shop at any time.
Our Technical Services Department enables us to bring clients timely, detailed,
co-ordinated, computer-generated construction drawing. Our organised technical and
product libraries and files are a key resource to serve clients.
Phoenix can and has successfully served clients as a prime contractor on projects
that are primarily mechanical.
Phoenix has the financial resources to undertake almost any size project. Twenty
five years of uninterrupted performance and conservative management makes our organisation
a sterling risk to the highest best-rated sureties. Our excess liability umbrella
insurance cover of £10,000,000.00 is exceptionally high among ductwork contractors.
Construction
Phoenix is engineering oriented. We understand systems and know how to build in
quality. We make known any concerns we may have with design or installation details,
and will provide engineering recommendations for improvements. Clients use our organisation
to design and build ductwork systems.
We are committed to the operating success of every project we build. We draw on
our extensive experience in system operations and maintenance to gear our installations
toward reliable, life-cycle operating systems.
Meeting client quality requirements is foremost in our project objectives. Our project
engineer concentrates on meeting the specified, our own, and other established quality
standards. We consistently achieve or exceed client expectations for project quality.
Project Engineers are responsible to the client and directly responsible to a Director
for all aspects of a project from initiation to completion. The authority Phoenix
place in this one person makes it easier for the client and all others, to deal
with our organisation. This skilled and experienced person has the authority to
speak on our firm's behalf and has access to the resources essential to getting
the job done well and on time. Project Engineers estimate, negotiate contracts,
manage the people and supervise schedules and costs.
This organisation builds all projects with the intent of providing a complete and
operable system. We do not undertake a project looking for or trying to create "extra"
work orders. Extra work orders disrupt our schedule and have negative cost implications.
We will identify any problem as soon as we are aware it exists in order to minimise
project disruption and cost.
We routinely hire professional, outside consultants to review or to design systems
outside our usual expertise. When needed, we retain consulting engineers for peer
review. Phoenix provides clients with pre-construction services to include project
planning, programming, estimating and budgeting. Clients respect and utilize our
valued engineering suggestions, which are based on a thorough understanding of the
project and the client's interiors.
Project Engineers scrutinize all manufacturers' submittal data for suitability and
for adherence to specifications, physical restraints and standards. Thorough, timely
examination and correction of submittals before, being forwarded for approval is
a hallmark of our project success.
Phoenix has one of the largest consistently employed labour pools in our industry.
This gives us the edge in mobilizing ample, long or short-term labour forces.
